Security Alert - July 7, 2014

We have been made aware that several of our members have been contacted via their cell phone numbers by individuals claiming to be employees of the Community 1st Federal Credit Union. The member is told that her debit card requires activation, and that her personal information, including Social Security number, is required as confirmation of identity prior to card activation. These calls are part of a fraud scheme. Community 1st DOES NOT EVER ask its members for personal or account information via telephone, text message, or email. Anyone who receives such communication should consider it a fraudulent attempt to obtain personal account information, and should alert the Credit Union at (406) 234-2550.  If you inadvertently respond and provide confidential account information, please notify us immediately at (406) 234-2550.

Introducing Privilege Pay!
We are pleased to announce the introduction of Privilege Pay, an overdraft protection service for your Community 1st checking account.  With Privilege Pay, checks and ACH debits that might otherwise have been returned for non-sufficient funds will be paid, up to a limit of $500.00.  It can provide an occasional, short-term solution for everyday financial headaches.  To learn more, click on the "Opt-In for Privilege Pay" banner to the right, or ask a member service representative about Privilege Pay today!

Inviting Supervisory Committee Volunteers

Your Supervisory Committee is an oversight committee comprised of five volunteers who are each elected to three-year terms by the CU Board of Directors.  The Committee's responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring board and management activities
  • Providing for financial statement audits
  • Conducting bi-annual member account verifications
  • Verifying compliance with policies, procedures, rules and regulations
  • Monitoring the internal control environment

Committee members fulfill these responsibilities by:

  • Meeting on a quarterly basis
  • Attending monthly board meetings
  • Meeting periodically with regulatory examiners and financial statement auditors
  • Reviewing management reports
  • Conducting certain audit procedures, such as cash counts

If you would be interested in serving your Credit union as a member of the Supervisory Committee, please call or drop by to visit with CU President Todd Gillette.
